Windows 98 network setup

Step1 make sure to have your network card drivers installed

Step 2 go to Start -> settings  -> control panel  ->  networking

Step 3  Make sure to remove the dial up adapter

 

Step 4 After removing the Dialup Adapter make sure you have Client for Microsoft networks installed

  1. You need to click add
  2. Then select client and Add
  3. Then choose Microsoft and Add client for Microsoft Networks

Make sure to Add the file and print sharing service

Make sure to add a protocol the TCP/IP protocol

 

Next we will set up the static IP

1 Click on TCP/IP and then choose properties from the menu

2 Make sure to type in your IP Address 192.168. then 0 for second hour or 1 for third hour then your number you chose between 1 and 100

Example (192.168.0.15)

3 Make sure your subnet is set to 255.255.255.0
